Aida Salehi was born in Sweden and raised in Texas by Iranian parents, her upbringing inspired her to travel and experience different cultures from a young age. After graduating from the University of Houston in 2012 with a Bachelors in Studio Arts, she pursued her passion of traveling and surfing, creating art along the way inspired by remote regions of the world. Her adventures eventually led to her move to O’ahu in 2014 where she pursued a Post-Bacc in Science from Hawai’i Pacific University in 2016. Her simple, playful colors and abstract depiction of the flora and fauna of native environments is a reminder of the natural beauty of the native lands and the preservation of the not so common flora. Her interest is to combine art and the environment in order to conserve and raise awareness especially concerning native plants. Aida currently resides on the North Shore of O’ahu creating environmental based art.
