Sella Molenaar is an illustrator from Amsterdam with a fascination for the female form, femininity and everything sensual and aesthetic. Sella likes to capture the female essence in all its endless shapes and variations in her work. Everyone who identifies as a woman or embraces their feminine side is an inspiration to her. As a self taught artist she started out as a fashion illustrator making live sketches at fashion week and all kinds of events while she was still finishing her Masters in Art History and Contemporary Art. This quick and energetic style stuck with her and her work can often be described as free spirited, defined by intuitive lines, pure simplicity and infinite freedom. As an advocate of the beauty of imperfection, she believes it’s the things that happen in the moment and even little mistakes that make her illustrations come alive.
